I wonder if I will ever get over my lust for a GT500? On a side note can’t wait for the Rolex 24

But why would you want to get over it?

Well the hope is one day I can buy one to get over the obsession.

That’s tempting but in all honesty I’m more than happy to have a 2011/2012 GT500. It was of course one of my high school dream cars

I was preparing to make some snarky comments about the price of the newer ones, but low-mileage models of that vintage are selling for $40-50k!

I have seen them as good as 30k if you can except about 50k in miles.

You could always just build a resto-mod quasi-replica in pieces, a little bit at a time. Dynacorn body, fresh crate engine and trans, four-link rear suspension, all new interior, etc. etc.. Hideously expensive, obviously, but doable in stages more so than buying a real one, and entirely to-order.

I think I would be satisfied with the modern GT500. If I was buying a classic I want it to be something or a style of vehicle that really isn’t made anymore (see massive American land yacht category)
